The war with Iran may still end in a strategic victory: no nukes, no ballistic missile threat, Hezbollah shattered, and the Islamic Republic weakened from within. But if Trump, Netanyahu, and the Gulf fail to convert that into a serious regional settlement, the vacuum will not stay empty. Transported
Transported was conceived as an alternative look at travel and its place in modern life, and some of the more interesting things under the surface that I learned from the places I visited.
As I spend a great deal of time in Israel, the last 18 months have led to a heavy focus on Middle Eastern affairs, hopefully also with a contrarian bent, which I apply to UK and US politics and other subjects too.
In other words it's really a self-indulgent diary of my thoughts, which I hope will be thought-provoking. I am always happy to debate listeners on any issue raised.
